April – Blue Water Baltimore

April is National Volunteer Month and in its honor Mother Nature showed us that we have some of the best volunteers in the business. On Saturday, April 9th we braved the wind, rain, and hail to beautify Baltimore’s shoreline with Blue Water Baltimore for their annual Project Clean Stream. Our volunteers navigated the shoreline by Harbor Hospital collecting the miscellany that ends up in our waterways, including super soakers, televisions, and flags. It was pretty amazing to find some of the things that ended up on the shorelines. The Patapsco River that we were cleaning runs into the Chesapeake Bay and eventually the Atlantic Ocean, so we were glad to be there to do our part. Mayoral candidate, Sheila Dixon, joined our efforts to make our community cleaner and greener. For the after party, we ate and drank at Nick’s Fish House. We’ll be back to enjoy the outdoor deck another day.

We are nothing without our volunteers, so it’s important for us to take the time to say thank you to our volunteers who dedicate themselves to taking action and solving problems in our city.
