VU Opens Several Committee Positions

We’re looking for several standout VUers who are interested in using their professional skills to give back as a VU committee member. Instructions on how to apply below. 

 

Graphic Design Lead (volunteer)

We are on a quest to make VU look better, and we need your support! As a priority item for VU in 2018, the marketing committee is looking for a talented graphic designer to help achieve this goal. Responsibilities include: strategic input on overall visual branding, asset collection, creating 1-3 pieces of core collateral for 2018, and one-off design support. As part of the committee, you’d also be a respected voice for strategically marketing VU. Estimated commitment: 4-6 hours/month

Photo/Video Lead (volunteer)

We are on a quest to make VU look better, and we need your support! As a priority item for VU in 2018, the marketing committee is looking for a talented photo/video lead to help achieve this goal. Responsibilities include: strategic input on overall visual branding, photo and video asset collection and one-off video projects to support marketing and development needs. Additionally, this person would support and guide the creation of a new hero video for the VU website. As part of the committee, you’d also be a respected voice for strategically marketing VU. Estimated commitment: 4-6 hours/month

Email Marketing Lead (volunteer)

Have killer copywriting skills and knowledge of or an interest in email marketing? If so, you may be a fit to join VU’s marketing committee. Eventbrite and MailChimp email experience a plus. Responsibilities include: drafting and distributing monthly emails (and yes, that includes GIF selection), monthly Eventbrite event posting and email list maintenance.As part of the committee, you’d also be a respected voice for strategically marketing VU. Estimated commitment: 4-6 hours/month

Social Media Lead (volunteer)

We’re looking for someone who has checked their Instagram in the past hour :-). If you’re personally and/or professionally savvy when it comes to social, you may be a fit for this role. Experience in paid social is a plus. Responsibilities include: promoting VU events across social channels; Instagram stories on Second Saturdays, Facebook album uploads, managing one-off Snapchat filter creation, and promoting sponsors or other events across social. As part of the committee, you’d also be a respected voice for strategically marketing VU. Estimated commitment: 4-6 hours/month

Marketing Committee Member (volunteer)

If you’re a marketer (of any kind) and are interested in contributing to the marketing committee for VU, we could use your help! Responsibilities include: writing monthly mini-blog posts, updating the VU website, representing VU at events, and other general support. As part of the committee, you’d also be a respected voice for strategically marketing VU. Estimated commitment: 4-6 hours/month

Programming Committee Member (volunteer)
The VU programming committee takes our Second Saturday events and makes sure they are a success from start to finish. They also support coordination of the after party. If you’re organized, detail-oriented and interested in helping to support this process, we could use your support! Estimated time commitment: 4-6 hours/month.
