VU Opens Up More Committee Positions

As VU continues to grow, we are excited to open up the following new committee positions designed for high-caliber, energetic individuals who are interested in using their professional skills to give back. Instructions on how to apply below.

Volunteer Engagement Lead (volunteer)
We are always looking to spread the word about VU and get more and more people out to our events. We are looking for someone who can lead this effort that is so central to our success. You will help us grow our impact in Baltimore through increasing the number of volunteers we have on every second Saturday. Responsibilities include: strategic planning about who to target and how to target them, attending networking events or festivals where we have a table to spread the word about VU, anything else that helps us get people to our events. You would be on the StrategicPartnerships committee, but would work directly with the Executive Director. Estimated commitment: 4-6 hours/month.

Corporate Sponsorship Lead (volunteer)
VU is looking to develop corporate partnerships, both locally and nationally, that can bring us and our other Chapters in-kind donations (think Home Depot for paint and equipment or a national restaurant that can provide food for an event or two each year). We need a creative thinker who can get us in touch with companies that see the value in what VU is doing and can reduce our annual expenses through in-kind donations. Responsibilities include: strategic planning about who to target and how to target them, reaching out to and pitching companies about providing donations to VU Baltimore and our other Chapters. You would be on the Strategic Partnerships committee, though you may be brought into some conversations relating to our fundraising efforts, and would work directly with the Executive Director. Estimated commitment: 3-5 hours/month.

Event Curation Lead (volunteer) – 2 positions
The careful vetting and selection of our nonprofit event partners is among the most important operational decisions Volunteering Untapped makes. You will be VU’s conduit to Baltimore’s nonprofit world and are in charge of filling our annual calendar with high-impact organizations who can deliver quality events that are impactful, rewarding, and fun. Responsibilities include: carefully curating our events calendar and scheduling all second Saturday events, connecting with every nonprofit in Baltimore to see if they would be a good fit for an event, developing new ways for nonprofits to reach out to us, attending events where nonprofits will be present. You would be on the Strategic Partnershipscommittee, and would work directly with your co-lead and the Executive Director. Estimated commitment: 5-7 hours/month.
