September brings cooler temps, pumpkin spice everything and five voluntbeering opportunties for you to choose from.
This month we are partnering with several fantastic organizations to bring you both in-person and virtual options.
- 10 volunteers will be meeting up at ToolBank for gardening and outdoor work in Pigtown.
- 10 volunteers with be working with Black Yield Institute at Cherry Hill Urban Garden
- 15 volunteers will head to Canton to help Waterfront Partnership weed and mulch the area near our friend Professor Trash Wheel
- 5 volunteers will work with Baltimore City for cleanup at the Duncan Street Miracle Garden
- 15 volunteers will be at City Ranch painting and weeding
- For City Ranch – please visit their website to fill out the waiver and visitor questionnaire . They recommend people to wear long pants and closed toed shoes, and bring your own work gloves
If in-person is not your thing, we have a virtual option for this Second Saturday as well. We will be working with Baltimore Corps making phone calls to help map out food deserts for their database Get Food USA. We’ll start with a quick training and then you’ll be making calls and filling out a short survey with what you learn.
As a reminder, for in-person events, masks are required. We recommend that you bring your own sunscreen & water as well as we will be limiting anything that could be shared. Whatever you choose, we can’t wait to see you on the 12th!
