Francis Scott Key Elementary/Middle School

Volunteering Untapped is teaming up withΒ First LEGO LeagueΒ and Francis Scott Key Elementary for our November event. All we can say is- get ready to channel your inner child because this one requires it!

We will be helping First LEGO League, an organization that provides students from ages 9-14, with a hands-on interactive robotics program in a sports-like atmosphere. Teams of up to 10 players focus on team building, problem solving, creativity, and analytical thinking to develop solutions to a problem currently facing the world. So where do we come in? We will be building the LEGO obstacles. AKA PLAYING WITH LEGOS!!

We will also be working with one of our tried and true partners, Living Classrooms, to help make some improvements to FSK Elementary. The principal asked students, teachers, and parents what they most wanted to see from volunteers. So in true VU fashion, it’s our job to help their wishes come true! Painting will be involved, so again- get those creative juices flowin’.

As for the afterparty- BEER. Need we say more?
