December- Salvation Army & Believe Big

Our most festive event of the year did not disappoint! This month we partnered with the Salvation Army on 29th Street to spread holiday cheer. We were thrilled to also work with the Believe Big Foundation to paint mugs for cancer patients.

An army of elves, also known as VU volunteers, descended on the Salvation Army to sort donated toys and wrap books. An assembly line of book wrapping kicked into high gear, as volunteers scoured the warehouse sorting toys that will eventually go to Baltimore families.

Around the corner at Peabody Heights Brewery, 50 volunteers gathered together with representatives from the Believe Big Foundation to paint mugs for local cancer patients. Our volunteers first heard the story of Ivelisse Page, founder of Believe Big, and then learned about how the mugs spread hope to the patients receiving them. We then got to work designing beautiful mugs imprinted with the word ‘Believe’.

After the events concluded, the volunteers from the Salvation Army made their way around the block to Peabody Heights for our annual holiday costume contest. We enjoyed brews from Peabody Heights and delicious eats from Well Crafted Pizza.
