January – Second Chance

We couldn’t start off the new year without our annual event at Second Chance! For those who may be new to our organizations, Second Chance is an organization that derives their name from the rehabilitation of materials, the environment, and people! They bring on employees who deserve a second chance in society and put them to work refurbishing materials, furniture, and other donated goods. Their dual mission helps the people of Baltimore and the environment.

This event has not only become a VU staple, but a popular one! We sold out 200 volunteer spots prior to the event. Processing lumber is a great way to work out some stress while ripping nails from plywood.

We were happy to have such a large crowd with us to support Second Chance and MLK Day of Service weekend! We also had a surprise visit from PowerPlant Live! who delivered a generous donation to Volunteering Untapped!

For our after party we headed to Brewer’s Cask in Federal Hill for some New Belgium beers on tap!

Check out our friends below who made January’s  events possible.
