Volunteering Untapped (VU) is proud to announce the hiring of its first full-time employee, Executive Director Alex Sanchez. Sanchez officially took the reigns last month under the supervision of the organization’s Board of Directors.
“We have been diligent with our search for someone who is not just the right culture fit, but seasoned enough to help to take VU to the next level,” said Founder Seth Franz. “Alex fits our vision for this, and we couldn’t be happier to have him on board to do just that!”
The hire comes as VU approaches five years and 60 Second Saturday volunteer events benefiting countless local nonprofits, all executed with the mission of increasing volunteerism in Baltimore and a focus on millennial engagement.
Prior to Sanchez’s hire, VU was run solely by Franz and his fellow millennial Board Members, who took VU from nine people at its first event in 2014, to averaging 150-200 at monthly events in Baltimore. VU also has expanded with chapters in Chicago and Philadelphia. The Board will continue to serve in a working capacity, but with the support of Sanchez’s full-time position.
To learn more about Sanchez, see him on VU’s social channels, or catch up with him at a future Second Saturday event, which are listed here once they go live: https://
