May – FORCE

In May, we headed to Liberty Elementary School to work with FORCE. FORCE is a creative activist collaboration focused on upsetting the culture of rape and promoting a culture of consent. FORCE designs communications campaigns to generate media attention and get millions of people talking. You can check out some of their biggest campaigns here.

Our volunteers helped FORCE support their biggest event, The Monument Quilt, that occurred May 31-June 2 on the National Mall. The Monument Quilt is an ongoing collection of stories from survivors of rape and abuse. Written, stitched, and painted onto red fabric this quilt will be on display at the National Mall in DC from May 31 – June 2nd. We helped in assembling and sewing together the Monument Quilt Display that was laid out on the National Mall in DC.

We also created keepsakes for guests at the Monument Quilt Culminating Display.

In addition to our work with FORCE, we painted and worked doing miscellaneous activities at Liberty Elementary.
