BOARD OF DIRECTORS
MEMBER POSITION INFORMATION AND APPLICATION
Volunteering Untapped’s mission is to improve Baltimore through increased volunteerism. We are currently accepting applications for new members of our Board of Directors.
Board Member Responsibilities:
Members of the Board of Directors for Volunteering Untapped (VU) help support our mission by providing oversight and guidance to the organization.
Board members are expected to actively participate in:
- Leadership and oversight
- Assist the Executive Director in preparing and implementing VU’s Strategic Plan
- Review outcomes of VU programming
- Lead and guide committees
- Actively participate in VU monthly board meetings
- Review and approve annual budget
- Attend fundraising and volunteer events
- Resource development and fundraising
- Leverage personal and professional relationships to help raise funds and awareness for VU
- Outreach
- Represent VU to stakeholders
- Act as an ambassador for VU to the general public
Board of Directors Structure:
VU’s Board includes, but is not limited to, the following positions:
- President
- Vice President
- Secretary
- Treasurer
- Director of Programming
- Director of Volunteer Engagement
- Director of Marketing
- Director of Events

Board Member Qualifications:
To serve as a member of VU’s Board of Directors, you must be passionate about volunteerism and serving communities throughout Baltimore City! Prior Board of Directors experience is not necessary. You must be available to attend monthly Board of Directors meetings (typically held the last Tuesday evening of the month), “Second Saturday” volunteer events, as well as at least one committee meeting per month (or as scheduled). We are looking for board members that believe in furthering our commitment to diversity and inclusion within our organization and of the communities we serve, and we welcome and encourage applications from all backgrounds and experiences.
